In celebration of World Habitat Day, Asset Homes proudly hosted the 29th edition of the Beyond Square Feet (BSF) lecture series on October 7th at Asset Platina, Thrissur. The event brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and the local community for a thought-provoking evening centered around the theme, “Engaging Youth to Create a Better Urban Future."
We were honored to have Dr. B K Bhavathrathan, Associate Professor at IIT Palakkad, as the keynote speaker. With his extensive expertise in Transportation Systems Engineering, Dr. Bhavathrathan provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in urban planning, emphasizing the pivotal role that the youth play in driving sustainable development. His lecture focused on innovative approaches for creating more inclusive, efficient, and resilient urban spaces, highlighting how the active participation of young people can lead to impactful, long-term change.
The event began with a warm welcome speech by Mr. Sunil Kumar V, Founder and Managing Director of Asset Homes, who highlighted the company’s commitment to building not just homes but vibrant communities. He emphasized the importance of creating platforms like the BSF series to facilitate dialogue and bring together diverse perspectives for a more sustainable urban future. Mr. Sunil Kumar’s vision of engaging young minds in these critical conversations set the tone for an evening filled with insightful exchanges.
The session encouraged meaningful conversations among attendees, with an engaging Q&A session that allowed participants to delve deeper into the complexities of urbanization and climate resilience. The discussions also shed light on the importance of incorporating the voices of underrepresented communities, ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of a brighter urban future.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bhavathrathan for sharing his expertise, to Mr. Sunil Kumar for his inspiring leadership, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the vibrant discussions. As we reflect on the insights gained, we are inspired to continue our journey toward building more inclusive and sustainable cities.
